About This Special Issue
Health management is in its infancy when compared with enterprises and industries management and therefore it would not be an accurate comparison if we tried to do so. Yet there is still a great difference between the degrees of management of even the health sectors themselves. Recent studies affirm that studies on hospital management stand out in several aspects when compared with studies on dental clinic management, such as quantity, quality, level of maturity, thoroughness and so on. It seems that dentistry services management is being neglected in the academic field. Is there a difference between running a medical clinic and running a dental clinic? How can dental clinics and dental hospitals be supported in management terms? What kinds of strategic management have been getting results that are more effective in such a context? Is there a most effective strategy? Should we measure results (such as productivity) in the dentistry context per tooth treated or per patient seen? If it is neither of them, how should we do then?
Hence, this Special Issue invites researchers, scholars, academics and practitioners to contribute to the field of dentistry management by submitting high-quality papers sharing their experiences, findings and points of view so that we could gather relevant studies on the topic.
