About This Special Issue
Oral rehabilitation involves different dental treatments and procedures. The dental implant is the most appropriate substitute for missing teeth. Tooth lost can occur due to various reasons. The volume and quality of the supporting tissues besides the treatment plan are key factors to reach a satisfactory result in implant treatment. Based on the patient condition, some of them require augmentation of soft tissue, hard tissue or a combination of them, prior to or at the time of implant insertion. On the other hand, others may demand some complementary procedures after an indeterminate period of time, such as those who suffer from the peri-implant disease, aesthetic complications.
It is highly recommended that dentists who deal with implant treatments should be aware of how to manage challenging situations, either surgical or prosthetic. Also, in some new cases, dentists take advantage of a particular technique to increase the quality of dental implant therapy. Different techniques and approaches are available to cope with problems. Moreover, a wide range of biomaterials, prosthetic components and implant systems are accessible. Hence, sharing new findings and innovations without considering the geographical borders is one of the simplest and efficient approaches to boost erudition. This attitude not only improves the quality and durability of the implant treatment but also has a direct impact on reducing the complications which can challenge both patient and oral health care professional.
