About This Special Issue
The biology of fungi has great potential in traditional as well as modern agriculture, food security, industries and biomedical research. Besides these, the fungal biology has the potential for further exploration in context of plant-microbe interactions, particularly in mycorrhizal associations, which can be extended to investigate bioactive compounds and elicitors. The studies on metagenomics and functional genomics of fungi to know about the interaction of genes and their role in phenotype and secondary metabolite production leads to new perspective in case of fungal biology. The utilization of genome editing and synthetic biology tools in fungal genome engineering offers novel insights into the field of fungal molecular biology research. Recently, the green synthesis of fungal nanoparticles draws the attention of fungal biology towards its application in agriculture, industry and biomedical sciences.
The primary goal of this special issue is to produce recent and high quality research publications that serve as a cutting edge resource for researchers in the field of Fungal Biology. We invite contributions that explore Mycology with particular interest in Taxonomy, Plant-Microbial Interaction, Metagenomics, Fuctional Genomics and Fungal Nanobiology.
Through this special issue, we aim to collect the original research articles, review articles, case studies, that will provide insight resource of various fields in the mycology, that will definitely enhance the knowledge to researchers, academicians and others. We welcome researchers from various disciplines to provide interdisciplinary perspectives on Fungal Biology. Your contributions will play a crucial role in advancing knowledge in this field.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fungal Taxonomy, Biodiversity and Conservation.
  2. Plant Microbial Interaction, Fungi In Seconadry Metabolites production.
  3. Fungal Metagenomics and Functional Genomics.
  4. Fungal Nanobiology in Agriculture, Industry and Biomedical Science.
