About This Special Issue
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is one of the most important bacterium in the stomach, it was estimated to have infected half of the world’s population. It is a causative agent of human gastric mucosal infection with several gastro-duodenal diseases such as chronic gastritis, gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer and gastric cancer,it is also associated with non-gastrointestinal diseases, like iron deficiency anemia. It was classified as a group I carcinogen by The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) in 1994. Research on the association between Helicobacter pylori infection and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as non-gastrointestinal diseases, is of great significance. Although there are plenty of researches on Helicobacter pylori infection related gastrointestinal diseases as well as non-gastrointestinal diseases and we know a lot about Helicobacter pylori infection related gastrointestinal diseases as well as non-gastrointestinal diseases, still, there are much more need to be explored.

Basic and clinical studies on Helicobacter pylori infection and gastrointestinal diseases as well as non-gastrointestinal diseases are of interest. Studies to explore novel methods to eradicate Helicobacter pylori infection without antibiotics will be particularly valued.
